The Terminator 🇺🇸 (Terminátor)

The Los Angeles of the future. The year is 2029, and decades of nuclear war have ravaged the Earth, which is being decimated by heavy machinery under the cover of eternal darkness. But the decisive battle is to take place today (meaning in the year the film was made, 1984). Soldier Kyle Reese is sent from the future to LA to contact Sarah Connor, the mother of the future „savior of men“, and protect her from the onslaught of the furious Terminator, who has only one mission: to mercilessly destroy and kill. The cult film directed by James Cameron, which was followed by several sequels, bears significant noir features: an emphasis on fatalism, the presence of a femme fatale, but also a fairly typical noir misogynistic perspective. In fact, women are seen as victims who need the protective male arms and are expected to play the traditional role of mother, hence the existence of women is blamed on the tragic events.
